Madonna Granted Temporary Adoption Order

Pop superstar Madonna was granted an temporary adoption order yesterday by a court in the Malawian capital Lilongwe, according to her lawyer.
The Hung Up singer will now be able to take one-year-old David Banda with her when she leaves the African country and she will eventually be granted full custody of the child, whose mother Marita died shortly after his birth.

Tom Ligowe, senior assistant registrar at Lilongwe high court, confirms:

“Madonna has been granted an interim order to adopt the child and she has been given observer status.”
